Gassing for the microbioreactors realized
Individual gassing for each reactor well on the microbioreactor plate has been realized. A prototype of a gassing lid has been constructed. The prototype fulfils the specifications defined earlier. The prototype lid is capable of supplying the wells individually with the air, oxygen and carbon dioxide gasses. To minimize foaming which can damage the cells, gassing will take place via the top of the reactor as surface aeration. The gasses are fed to the reactor well via individual lines and will get mixed in the headspace of the reactor well. Thus, an individual gassing and regulation in every single well is possible. The materials have been chosen with disposability in mind, thus lowering the risk of contamination.
